Tomorrow vs. Hideaway
Hello, Gator Families!
Just a friendly reminder that our next meet is tomorrow at Hideaway Swim Club.
We’re still in need of volunteers to help the meet run smoothly. If you haven’t signed up for a volunteer assignment yet, please take a moment to see where you can help. Thank you to everyone who has already volunteered!
Also, if your swimmer’s RSVP changes within 24 hours of the meet, please email [email protected] as soon as you’re aware of the change—even if it’s right before the meet begins.
We completely understand that unexpected situations come up. However, because SwimTopia does not notify us of RSVP changes, we may not know about them unless you contact us directly. Last-minute changes often require us to adjust individual events, relays, and the overall lineup, so timely communication makes a huge difference.
Thank you to everyone who helped make today’s Lap/Dive-a-Thon and Tie-Dye Party such a success! The kids had a great time, did tons of laps and dives and made beautiful Tie-Dye! Results will be sent out soon, but it’s not too late to sponsor your athlete!! You can still Venmo @umswimclub with your sponsorship or bring a check to the meet or practice.
After Dyeing
- Keep the item tied with the rubber bands or string.
- Place it in a plastic bag or wrap it in plastic to keep it damp.
- Let it sit for 24 hours at room temperature (70°F/21°C or warmer). This gives the dye time to bond with the fabric. If it’s cooler, you can leave it for up to 48 hours.
Rinsing
- Put on gloves if you have them.
- Rinse the item while it’s still tied under cool running water until the water starts to run lighter.
- Carefully remove the rubber bands.
- Continue rinsing with cool to lukewarm water, gradually warming the water until it runs mostly clear.
Washing
- Wash the tie-dye by itself the first time in hot water with a small amount of laundry detergent.
- Dry as usual (dryer or hang dry).
Thank you for your understanding, your flexibility, and everything you do to help make our meets successful. We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow!
Katie
