Our Gators worked so hard and put up a great battle on Tuesday. We lost by just 29 points but had lots of fun and showed excellent teamwork!

Fun Practice

Tomorrow we will have our annual Fun Practice! All Gators (AM, PM, Mini, Divers) are invited to come 8:30-10:00 am to the pool for fun and team building games. Wear a swimsuit, bring a towel, bring a water gun (or two!), water to drink and all your energy!

Lap/Dive a thon

Next Friday is Lap/Dive a Thon and the Tie Dye Party. Schedule will be sent in Sunday’s email but is close to regular practice times.

Lap/Dive a Thon is our biggest annual fundraiser to help keep your team fees as low as possible. We need everyone to reach out to their circle of supporters and ask them to sponsor their favorite swimmer or diver. Swimmers will swim as many laps as they can during their respective practice times and divers will do as many dives as they can during their respective practice times. Sponsors can do a flat donation or they can sponsor each athlete per lap or dive. For reference, our youngest swimmers swim about 20 laps during a normal practice, our oldest over 100; divers can compete 20 to 40 dives per hour. When swimmers and divers are not racking up the laps and dives they’re invited to bring a shirt (or towel, or accessory) to tie dye at the Tie Dye party that will happen throughout the event. We will provide red and blue dye as well as rubber bands and gloves. Please bring a white shirt (or whatever) to dye and a plastic bag for each item you’re taking home with you.

We also need adults to help (wo)man the Tie Dye station since kids and permanent dye are not a trustworthy combination.

Abby Weitzeil Swim Clinic

Coach Meaghan got a personal text from THE Abbey Weitzeil recently. You may be asking “Who is that?” You know, just the 3 time USA Olympian, 6 time Olympic medalist, and 2024 Olympic Team Captain among other things! She wanted to be sure everybody knows that she will be at Maple Manor on July 12 hosting an awesome clinic from 9am-noon. The cost is $100 per swimmer and anyone can participate. Mega Distance Invitational 

Not feeling a clinic with a world famous Olympian? Rather swim a long distance and maybe qualify for a ribbon or trophy? Then Manorlu’s MegaDistance event is just what you’re looking for! MegaDistance is a Middle distance Invitational meet hosted annually at Manorlu Swim Club. It allows all swimmers to swim twice their normal distance and even has events for older (adults too!) swimmers. Cost is $5 per event and choose the events that appeal to your swimmer!
