“A” Champs

• We are still looking for Ads for the Program. Please send this GOOGLE FORM to anyone who may be interested.
• We have closed the sign up for Vendors due to space limitations.
• As the host for this year, we will need “all hands on deck!” Be on the lookout for volunteer signups. We will need help with setup, concessions (3 locations) and a variety of other jobs.

Championship meet signup & eligibility

At the end of this email is a LENGTHY explanation of how championship meet eligibility works. It includes a Google Form allowing athletes to choose the events they would prefer to swim. It is crucial that this be filled out immediately as coaches need to make selections for “A” Champs next Sunday morning.

Sunny Willow Meet

Our final regular season meet of the season is tomorrow night. The theme for the meet is (appropriately) Tie-Dye! Divers should arrive at 3:45 for 4:00 Warm-up, Swimmers at 5:00. This will also be our Senior night which will occur between Diving and Swimming. We still need a couple timers & runners!

Swim/Dive-a-thon & Tie-dye

Thanks to those who helped run this event, especially our tie-dye specialist Kelly Toumbanakis. Please thank all of your friends & family members who donated. 

Car Wash

A big thank you to all of the parents, swimmers, family, and friends, who came out to support our car wash today! It was a great success! Special thanks to organizers Nicole Lobbenberg & Kate McGlasson. The kids had a blast, playing in the water and cleaning the cars. We even had a visit from an Aqua truck and a front end loader!! Also a big thank you to Sloane Automotive Group who donated all the supplies! Can't wait till next year!

Banquet

Our team Banquet will be on Sunday, 7/30 at 5pm at the pool. Each family will be asked to bring $10 for pizza. Be on the lookout for an RSVP and a Signup for sides & desserts.

Championships Qualification & Schedule

The following 2 items need to be done ASAP (although championship meets are more than a week away, the league seeding meeting occurs this weekend so all information must be completed by Thursday night at the latest).

1. Please RSVP for kids in SwimTopia for all Championship meets that may apply (A & B for swimmers, Diving for divers). No matter whether a swimmer will qualify for A or B, select “Attending” for all meets you CAN make it to. Select ”not attending” for champs meets you CANNOT attend. This is important for relay decisions.
2. Also fill out this GOOGLE FORM to indicate preferred events for swimmers. Swimmers who qualify or are close to qualifying for A Champs should make their highest-ranked events their first choices (see below).

“A” swimming Champs is on Saturday 7/29 in the morning at Upper Moreland.

• To qualify for A Champs, Swimmers need to be amongst the top performers in an event across the league and must have participated in at least 3 dual meets.
• The top 18 times in each event automatically qualify.
• If swimmers in the top 18 cannot make it or choose to swim different events, the 19th, 20th (and so on) fastest times become eligible.
• Attached to this email is a list of the swimmers with the current top 40 times in each event. This will change slightly after our last meet.
• A child can participate in 4 events maximum at A Champs with a maximum of 3 individual events (Diving counts as an event).
• Swimmers who do not qualify as individuals may be used to fill RELAYS at A Champs. This DOES NOT eliminate them from B Champs participation. This decision is made by the coaches. Medley and Free Relays are BOTH included at A Champs.

“B” Champs is Wed 7/26 late afternoon/evening @ Maple Manor.

• Children who do not qualify for A Champs can swim 3 events in B Champs (there are no relays at B Champs).
• A swimmer who qualifies for ONLY ONE event at A Champs can still swim 2 events at B Champs (but not the event in which they qualified for A Champs).
• Swimmers who qualify for multiple events at A Champs are ineligible for B Champs.
• B Champs include a 6 & Under age group.

Diving Champs is Friday 7/28 from 7am to 1pm (ish) at Sunny Willow

• The top 18 diver averages (average of each diver’s top 2 scores) qualify for “A” Diving Champs.
• If divers in the top 18 are unavailable, number 19, 20… become eligible.
• All other divers may participate in “B” Champs.
• A and B Champs are on the same day but at different times (TBD).
